We Are Almost There !
I am very pleased to announce to all 149th
PVI Descendants, Re-enactors, and Friends, that I have received the
following E-mail today:
Mr. Reilley--
The contract for repairs to the 149th PA monument has been awarded and
the amount for the repairs to the monument come to a total of 2500.00
dollars.

In a follow-up correspondence, Mr. Flickinger
said he expects to meet with the Contractor next week to discuss this
project and that he hopes to obtain an estimated completion date for
replacing the missing bayonet and scabbard.
This is truly great news for all of us and it means that we can now
proceed with plans to conduct a fund raising campaign. Our 149th PVI
reenactment unit will be doing a living history encampment at the
American Civil War Museum [aka ‘Wax Museum’] in Gettysburg on June
18-19, at which time I expect to meet with our Association’s treasurer,
the Rev. Paul Herring, and try to finalize the details for our
monument’s fund raising campaign for these repairs. All details will be
announced on our two web sites:
